I assume you are running 64 bit, is there a VST 2 and 3 version? No idea...

yeah, reset and scanned several times after reinstalling updates. The scan hangs when it comes to the EZdrummer dll but eventually recovers.
 
There is only a 64-bit version installed.

OK I suggest...
 
Right click the DLL -> Properties -> Details, and confirm the version number here.
If no version number the size in bytes..
 
Oh and state the filename..
 
Then perhaps those who have EZ Drummer 2 DLL who say it is working could do the same...

Just a heads up...
I've seen another thread whereby they uninstalled, ran a regcleaner, reinstalled and it worked...
If you can find the actual hive entries for ezdrummer you might be able to delete them and bypass reg cleaner (however there could be setting you have missed).


A regcleaner (such as cccleaner), and playing around with registry settings, is of course at your own risk... Backup your registry first, maybe backup your entire hard drive.

No hangs here and I installed EZD2 latest update before I installed Plat.

Same here, I had EZDrummer2 installed prior to installing Platinum and it's not causing any problems.

It does the same thing with the base EZdrummer 2 install also.
 
I think something is hosed. Just not sure what.

Narrowed it down a little further. The 32-bit EZdrummer does not exhibit the error on project close.

I don't know how much this would be related, but the windows log showed this:
Application 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\SONARPLT.exe' (pid 5924) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID..
