folks here been tellin me for years to mix my midis to mp3s for playback w/live accompaniment in Sonar 7/8 -
Could someone direct me to link w/tips on this area please - bouncing all from what "sounded good" live before loses something in mixdown - I SHOULD say, immediate playback of mp3 thru windows media player is fine - but thru say android> mixer - really bad
I'm trying to get away from using the laptop on stage

Why not just mixdown to a .wav instead?

Sir Les
yes wav is better than compressed..mp3 is compressed audio...wav is not?...well, it is more original to the , lossless wav or iff, ogg...something like that would be better for quality assurance....wink.

File size should not be a problem these days with massive hard drives cheaply available.

But if you really want to go down the mp3 route, the best way, in my opinion, is to start off by exporting a 16 bit 44.1KHz wav from Sonar, then use this for your mp3 conversion.
