  • Had to revert back to X3e...

....for now anyway, until I see what the updates will bring.  Still having problems with MIDI notes dropping (primarily drum parts) even after bumping up the midi buffer from 250 to 500.  I checked X3 and the midi buffers were still at 250 (factory setting) and never had any problems with midi notes not playing.

Also having the controller panes jump up and down in size drives me nuts.  I have a duel monitor system and have the TV on one screen and the PRV on the other.  I can adjust the controller panes in the PRV to the size I need them, then if I click in the TV...80% of the time the size of the panes will change.

I'm confident that these things will be fixed in future updates, but for now I have to revert back to X3.  I really love the fact that I can solo drum pieces in Platinum when using a drummap, but that feature doesn't weigh in enough to balance out the other stuff that's not working correctly at the present time for me.

This isn't a rant or a complaint session... :) ... just stating some of the problems I'm having so the bakers will know about them.

X3e is working wonderful for me...so I will keep an eye out for the updates and see how it goes.

Can you nail it down to particular plungins?
Have you updated your audio interface and drivers recently? If not maybe you should...

alex, ted says the same things are working in x3, why jump to "particular plungins"? this should be a "please use the problem reporter" or moved to the "Problem Reports" forum and split into per-issue threads,according to the handbook :-)

@pwalpwal
 I think this thread:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Platinum-hangs-closing-projects-with-EZdrummer-2-m3173239.aspx

..somewhat destroys your argument, you were saying exactly same thing on that thread and you were wrong again.. Please get over the idea that just because something appears to work in X3 that Platinum might be the cause (that's just amateur diagnosis). Nobody knows what the cause is right now. If you read what the OP wrote you might have seen some clues.

I suggest trying to help the OP and reading the forum handbook (there are no valid steps to reproduce right now)  may be better use of your time right now. Troubleshooting issues like these often starts with interface drivers and plugins.

This is not the problem report forums.

In other words we should all keep our mouths shut, fine by me

Or maybe trying to help the OP would be nice rather than hinder those trying to help. This is the OP's thread. Actually the OP might want click that link I gave, whilst there is no crash it may help troubleshoot the issue.

Some years ago I had this issue - when midi notes where too short, like below 40 ticks.
This was a plugin issue.

Running a CAL script making them at least 40 - it ran fine.
Pads I had at the time could not be told minimum length of notes, like my eDrums can.

Other things that you might try, is to render drums. Read about issue in a daw that did not tell plugin it was doing rendering - so plugin felt this is casual and drop notes in some cases. This might be a Sonar issue if longer notes does not help then.(tip to devs if to look into it).

Plugins often use less accurate resample algorithms etc when not rendering to save cpu.

Don't know if there is a plugin that is easy to test whether Sonar tell plugins if rendering or running realtime?

I'm getting dropped BFD2 notes when playing back in Platinum

I've upped my Midi buffers to 1200 but the issue remains

Alex with all due respect , I found your reply to pwalpwal  harsh. Sorry, Just me, I was going to offer an idea but for fear of being shot down will opt out.

@Bristol_Jonesey

Please check last post here:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/BFD2-issue-in-Sonar-help-m1357635.aspx

A VST reset and then a rescan might be in order as well.

If issue persists might be an idea to start a new thread away from OP's issue.
Cheers..
