In my template I have a midi track that plays a hat with 8th notes and another midi track that plays swing 8ths. Most songs are 8ths, so I have the swing 8ths track with the mute button yellow. When I play my template both hat tracks play, so I'm having straight 8ths and swing 8ths both play together, which sounds like a train wreck. The only way I can prevent both from playing is to archive one of them. Clearly the mute button is not working for midi. So any Sonar 8.5 or X3 project I open has this same problem.

Thats how it works now. :-(
You can put your 2 Hihat tracks into 2 Take Lanes of one track instead. The mute butten for the Lanes work.
