A question about this technique Craig - in the past this would cause any reverb or other added fx tails to be cut off at the end of the exported track as the wave file created was only exactly as long as  the clip selected. It is the same for midi tracks if you select them to bounce to audio - any triggered sound will cut off exactly at the end  of the selected clip, though this is a more obvious outcome. Is this still the case, or will Sonar extend the exported wave to the end of any fx added? It would be brilliant news if it did! I haven't tried it for some time.

SONAR still works as you describe. However, you can click-drag the end to extend the clip for however long the decay lasts.

By the way, (slightly different topic) if the bakers are thinking of reworking the export, I hope they figure out a nice way to have the resulting WAV file only as long as the longest active track.

SONAR already does this. If you clear the selection by selecting "nothing" SONAR the output wave will indeed be as long as the longest track. This also applies to source category tracks. When you export with no selection it will create waves as long as each track.
And regarding tails, the simplest way is to extend the end of any tracks to the length you wish for their tail to end. SONAR has no way to know how long you wish the tail to continue. You can simply extend the end of any clip by dragging it beyond the physical end of the wave data.

Thanks Craig - that is what I have always done. It would be very cool not to not have to do that:)
