I pasted in  7 midi tracks and tried to output them all at once to the TSS.  I selected all tracks in the track pane, held Ctrl and clicked output to TSS in the selected track.  Only the selected track changed.  If I selected all tracks in the console view, held Ctrl and and changed output, all the tracks changed.  I thought the Ctrl thing worked everywhere at all times.  What are the limitations?

Yes, quick grouping with Ctrl should work pretty much everywhere. There might be one or two items that only work in the inspector if i recall correctly, but I just checked Ctrl + Select Output in the track header with several tracks selected, and they all changed.
