Most of my VST's are 32 bit, so I pretty much toy with the 64b DAWs to see what works and what doesn't. Generally, I don't need vast memory for big audio files and run with tried and true 32b stuff, rendering to audio as needed when transitioning to 64b. Bridging most of my instruments/FX seems pretty silly. Is there a way to have C3 do a 32b install of SonarPro?
If not, auto-updates of a 32b SPro via C3 will probably not be available either.
Near as I can tell, I'm locked into a 64b install on my C: drive with other stuff spread over the hidden Program Data dir and my User/AppData, not to mention the registry entries.
Oddly, most reg entries appear common between the 32b and 64b versions (like apparently all the Pref settings including dirs). Some settings appear shared between my earlier/reinstalls of X1 and SonarPro.
I only found this out by creating 4 Content/Project dirs for X1/SP/32/64 and discovering that these were not handled separately as I might have hoped. Simultaneous, 32/64 installs appear worthless, so currently I'm experimenting with a X1/32 and SPro/64 via C3 install. It's a real PITA and I'm not going to be doing anything useful until I think I have a stable setup. I feel real sorry for those 'renting' on a monthly basis, since my first month has been wasted on just setup issues.
