Hi. I began to fight with really annoying bug - when you try to change faders during playback, fader levels began to behave funky. It is resetted to zero and you cant change it, because it return to INF. Only after few second fader unfreezed and you can set correct level. Am i the only one with this bug? Transport playback position also affected by this bug.
P.S. To imitate my bug - run Platinum, move cursor to every fader and during playback try to change fader position. It immediately return to -INF position and freezed there for a while. Only after few minutes you can change level correctly.

Nope, not seen anything like that.

The only time faders don't move "by touch" is when they're subject to volume automation

Something else must be going on here. Is your mouse old or is it wireless? Maybe it is sending a bad signal or something. If it has batteries, try changing them. Or try using a different mouse. Does this fix the problem?

If you activate Offset mode - what happends then?
Thinking that there is automation it try to follow.

There is a button for envelope/offset in control bar.

Or click away Read automation.

Well, checked twice. Something wrong anyway. Same behavior. Enabling offset return sliders to normal position, but bug repeated. Need to find more.

Is the display set to more than 125%? if so, try setting the display back to 100% or no more that 125%.

Lumen,

I bet you have an envelope set to -inf. Go back and turn offset mode *off* and see if there is an envelope (or automation) on the track - or else maybe the fader is set to -inf, with offset mode off.

Set everything to 0 with offset mode off - then turn it back on again...

PS - this kind of thing happens to me a lot ;-)

Absolutely not this case. On my Windows 7 PC everything worked fine with faders. After upgrading to Windows 8, faders began to work unpredictable. I assume this is related to my monitor GUI scaling. I use 2560X1440 resolution. Sonar interface on Win 7 and Win 8 looks different. Win 8 upscale interface to this resolution, Win 7 leaves it as is.

Did you do an upgrade in place or did you do a full installations n win 8 from a bare drive? Not recommended especially for something a s critical as a DAW. Have you upgraded to 8.1 update 1?
