I've never had a problem with it in the past. (Since before the latest update.) If it's working, it doesn't make a lot of sense to figure out why it's working. But, I suppose some systems can handle the smaller buffer size better than others. Does the smaller buffer size offer that much in compensation? With that said...I just had to adjust an audio latency setting recently because recorded material was falling too soon. I had to manually decrease a setting and uncheck use ASIO reported latency. I don't know what settings have been changed with a software revision update.
I suppose I could have performed the recommended....send the audio from a drum track out the system and back in and record it onto another audio track to see if it lined up in time. But, I've been lazy about doing that....It seems -5 is a pretty good value. I performed some bass guitar strikes and my performance was equally soon and late. Considering my best performance will need some tweaks...but as it was before I made this change, my performances were always way way too soon and I'd have to scoot the entire track over quite a bit. Anyway, I'm glad I'm getting it dialed in. Thanks for all of the help. You guys are the best!
