+1 to the above.  My consumption of cotton buds and isopropyl alcohol has crashed since switching to Sonar;  and does anyone recall how much a reel of 2" 456 tape used to cost;  and I used to fall asleep 'rocking and rolling' - hitting 'stop' and 'record' and waiting for the gears to shift the tape back and crank it into motion again while someone repeatedly hacked through an under-rehearsed solo.  We're in dreamland, folks.

Personally I wish there was an option for 'pause' not to advance the 'now' time (there isn't something I've missed, is there?), but that's just me.  My trusty VS-100 'marker insert' button gets lots of action, I can live with it.  I don't see the pile of feature/bug requests, but it's obviously not a priority for the community.  As Craig says, if you can't live with Sonar's quirks migrate to another DAW.

Over the years I have accepted the good faith of the Sonar development team who are much closer to the DAW development scene than I am - I do music, not software.  They haven't let me down so far, and my limited experience of Platinum so far is equally encouraging.  My customer loyalty has been earned - and rewarded.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Ctrl + Spacebar is pause.

I agree.  See my recent post about it at http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3169921

By the way, while i'm here, instead of starting a new thread about this (which i was inclined to do), i hope Cakewalk will find a greater array of emoticons to post threads with. I've been in other forums (not music related) where every nuance of any expression was covered by animated emoticons, and it really helps with any fine angle of context and expression. Please Cakewalk, if at all possible could you maybe look into this if it's not too much trouble? It does make for a more interesting and fun posting experience and can liven things up a bit...

At the very least, I want a  emoticon.

But the real reason I popped into this thread was because I did not see a fix on the list for a bug that drives me absolutely apedonkeys...

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Platinum-Users-Did-they-fix-the-screen-jumping-when-clicking-take-lanes-between-tracks-m3170752.aspx

Essentially when working between two tracks with lanes open where the parent track end sup offscreen doing ANYTHING in the lanes section of the track not in focus will make the screen jump up to the parent track.

It was confirmed in an old thread by a Baker but I did not submit an official report. More details in the link above but maybe I'll try to dig up the original thread and maybe even my post in Alex's bug thread... maybe... if needed.

Thankee.

A bit OT but I will bring this back.... I have been investigating ProTools as an alternative to SONAR.  I have spent about 10 hours on my TRAINING for PT and am totally overwhelmed by all the QWERTY keyboard shortcuts to be productive in that environment.  I realized that all the years spent using/learning SONAR have been worth it for I can zoom around SONAR as fast as those tutors are in PT.  It would probably take me years to even come close to my workflow in SONAR.

I think I will continue to dabble with PT but keep SONAR as my main squeeze DAW.  This dog is to old to learn new tricks but can still hunt.

Now to bring this back OT... the enhancements made to SONAR 15 (if that is what we call it) are overwhelming (in a good way) to me.  The mix recall, the new floating transport to name a few are just what I need, to have an even smoother workflow in SONAR.

Thanks guys and only time will tell if this subscription model is also a good thing.
