  • Best way to smooth CC (aka how do I draw CC data on top of existing reliably)?

So I'm just wondering what's the best way to smooth CC data in Sonar Platinum.

I'm use a breath controller, and would like to smooth out peaks and valleys in my CC2.  I noticed that my draw tool, if I'm hovering over a data point value in in my PRV MIDI events, it will not draw anymore.  I click and it just tells me what the value is.  Okay... that's somewhat useful, but what I want to do is start and continue drawing from THAT exact point I clicked at. I'd like to do this with either line or freehand drawing. I can't seem to find I way to do that.  Or should there be some other method that I'm to use to smooth out my CC data?

To be clear, I know how to draw by drawing away from the existing data point anchors, but it's very annoying, and having to redraw over it to reconnect with the existing data, it's rather frustrating and can create disconnects in my CC data points. I really wish there was something like a MIDI CC compressor or interpolator I could plugin. That or if I could just use the line tool to slice off unintended sharp peaks and valleys in my breath control data.

I use the process-find/change to do exactly that.  I do one pass to bring the peaks down and another pass to bring the valleys up.

Hope somebody has a work around (i.e. Hold CTRL, Shift, Alt, F7, while moving the draw tool), because I have the same issue.

Maybe some CAL script can do this - there's one called Thin Controller Data, maybe it can be easily changed to do smoothing.

If I had to do this I would just build a simple Reaktor gadget to smooth MIDI data.
