I hope it's appropriate to post this here? It is part of the Sonar purchase/install...

Hi Gang...

I am currently web-handicapped, but I managed to d/l and install 2015... But me web access has been so dismal I can't manage to get AD2...

I seem to remember it is an online install, but I'm wondering if they offer a way around that?

I appreciate all/any help...

Thanks...

They used to, but I don't think that is an option anymore.
From their website:
"As a company, it becomes increasingly difficult for us to support two very different paths of development; online and offline. We have decided to focus on the online path, because we truly belive [sic] it is the way of the future and because it provides great benefits for a vast majority of our users."

Thanks stickman...

I had a feeling that was the case... I guess I'm gonna be limited to Session Drummer 3 and AD for the foreseeable future...

My internet has locked up/dropped every time I've tried and my it doesn't appear likely it will be any better for a long time...

I have only used AD on a few things as I prefer a kit I use in SD3 most of the time... Honestly I also find the controls and placement of such a bit uncomfortable in AD such as adjusting cymbal gain/pan via their weird little knob/bar control instead of having them on faders as all the other pieces are...

So I guess I'll survive this issue, eh? ;-)

Thanks again...

Hi Keni,
A huge hassle I know, but....

Since your satellite connection is so funky, can you take your actual cpu box to a friend that has a solid dsl/cable internet connection? DL from there, go back home and reattach cpu at your studio.

My concern is, does AD/XLN verify, and/or deny DL if you are not at your registered (?) ISP.

That would be an unreasonable demand by XLN (if they did this)......especially for people who use laptops for DAWS. The installer just needs to be online in order to get the updates.

Thanks for the idea tunerman...

Yeah, I thought of that option, but this machine is a large Mac pro... And it's somewhat buried into my studio... I don't think I'm gonna try that....

Thanks for the thought...
