I just got a new PC, reloading everything last night when I went to download the driver for my Tascam 1800 I noticed a new driver. I've installed but won't have a chance to check it out until this weekend...has anyone tried the new driver? Have they fixed the latency issue?

I noticed the RTL claims on tascam's site so according to Craigs pesonal testing they really are the shizzle for low RTL's and a must have in terms of low price interfaces. 

wish they would use these new drivers from the 4x4 and develop an interface that was more feature rich and had more inputs. 

In the next three weeks or so I'll be moving into my new flat and I'll need a new interface. At the moment the race is between 2 products: Focusrite 6i6 and Tascam US-4x4. I have to admit I wasn't aware of driver issues with the Tascam so that's making me a bit nervous. The news that Tascam will be developing them in house is therefore welcome. Are the new drivers available now?
