Good Morning,

I was recording some vocal and the latency is ok, but when I finished the clip  half of the bar is delayed, so I have to move the clip back to get align with the song. When I recording Punch in/Out no problems. Please can you tell me why is this behavior?
I am using Komplete Audio 6  Native instruments interface.

Have a good day,

It's likely that your interface is not reporting all of its latency - a common occurrence - so that SONAR is unable to accurately compensate and line up the finished clip automatically.

Fortunately, there is an adjustment just for that scenario, labeled "manual offset" in the audio options. Record something sharp and percussive, like drumstick clicks, to a quantized MIDI click track. Set the time display to show samples and see how many samples forward or back you need to nudge it in order to line up with the click.  Enter that correction in the Manual Offset setting.

You can get even more accurate results using a loopback, but if your live audio is just vocals, you can get close enough using the above method and avoid the hassle of setting up the loopback connection.

Also make sure you're running the latest firmware and driver for your interface. Normally this goes automatically.

I think half a bar is way too much to be accounted for by unreported latency. Manual Offset's usually on the order of 20-40 samples. More likely this is the metronome count-in thing that comes up every once in a while. Are you running a 2-beat count-in?

In any case try disabling count-in, and see if it makes a difference. If it does, I would call Cakewalk, and explain the situation to see if they can confirm it's a known issue, and whether they have a solution. As rare as this is, it seems to be a hardware/driver-specific thing. In my memory, no one has ever reported back how they ultimately resolved it other than by not using count-in.

If it's not the metronome count-in , I dunno...
