Hi - I am working on some bass and drums in PRV. Both tracks have the same issue. If I choose either the Smart or Edit Tool and stretch the duration of a note, no matter how small or large an amount, it adds another note to the grid. I'm not holding ctrl, alt, or anything else. What have I done to PRV?!? Feeling like a bozo, reading the manual hasn't shed light for me...

Edit - to be exact, this occurs in both PRV and inline.

For drums dragging out a note shouldn't do anything. For bass it should work. If you are using the smart tool grab the end of the note and pull it out.  You will want to do this moving toward the right.

Indeed, John. I have done exactly that. It adds a note every time. I notice as well if I move a note in either view that a note is added where I'm moving it from. Like a drag/draw.

To ensure there weren't 2 notes already there I ran CAL UNDUPE. 0 duplicate notes removed from the track. Still drawing a note in exactly as the note was before I stretch or move it. Dang it.

When you drag what does the cursor look like? Is it a two ended arrow horizontal to the PRV?

I've had such things happen when my wireless mouse is having trouble maintaining a connection.
It'll turn a drag into a release and drag.  In your case this might be a "stop stretching and start a new note".

The behaviour wouldn't be consistent though, so if your system always does exactly the same thing then it's probably not your mouse.

First zoom in some on the vertical and have more note to grab. (tip; the smart tool needs some space to do its magic)  Second be sure you are using the smart tool and be sure that when you grab the note end the cursor turns into the double ended arrow. That should do it, I hope.

John, I believe you're onto something with more zoom. I was grabbing the note and moving it, but it seems if I just get the edge, it adds a note. I zoomed in a bit and got 'more of the note' - voila! I thought for sure I had done something to make it act this way. I very much appreciate the assist gentlemen. Enjoy - I am now!

Hey that is great news! Play around with it and see how where the mouse is can have an impact on what cursor you get. The new PRV is a wonder but it does have a few bugs. Hopefully they will get fixed soon.

Still its a big improvement over the past PRV.
