Any issues for other?  I have several audio products and they all connect as expected to the steinberg MR816x driver.  Platinum
keeps dropping the connection.  Any ideas, suggestions, etc.?

Otherwise I'm very happy. Seems to be a very stable release overall.

Thanks in advance!

Do any of the other products come with their own virtual drivers or stay resident software that could interfere?

You have the latest driver and firmware?

Are you talking about "Dropouts"?  if so, I'm assuming your using ASIO drivers provided by Steinberg. Try changing the latency. Also, was this a side-by-side installation with a prior version of SONAR or a new install?  Right now I have PLATINUM running, but still have X3 until I'm comfortable.

Hm, there was another recent post about a Steinberg interface user losing connection in Platinum:

That user never followed up, and though I'm also a Steinberg UR28M user, I'm still on X3e and won't be upgrading for awhile yet.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this, and, of course, will report my own experiences as soon as I can make the upgrade myself (Hopefully in a couple weeks).

Yes, This is exactly what's happening. It will be working fine, I will log out and then log back in and the connection is lost.  I have to jump through some hoops, but can always connect again. Just very inconvenient.
I did have some virtual drivers on my machine which I uninstalled per someone's suggestion but still the same issue.

Is this a standard FW400 port?  Desktop or laptop?  (Listing your system specs in the sig would be extremely helpful.  See mine for example).

Were you using this setup successfully (without drops) on a previous version of Sonar?  No changes?

That "someone" was me I'm Alex BTW pleased to meet you :)
I also asked if you had the latest drivers and firmware installed?

Cheers...

I've been using an MR816X with Sonar without issue since mid 2012. ( incls. Sonar X1, Sonar X3 and Platinum)

When I plug my X-Station in the MR816X is no longer even optionally available to Sonar. Could your issue be something similar? A poorly written driver from another product?

When I run other daws and standalone synths I reboot before opening Sonar. I often have issues when I don't.

good luck.

Using the legacy FireWire driver from Microsoft? Check in Device Driver. Odd that it loses the connection though. I would suspect a cable connection problem or possibly a FireWire card connection to the pcie bus, assuming you added the card. Suppose yoiu could check for IRQ conflicts but that seems doubtful. My MRX works  fine with X3.

The problem is with Platinum and Steinberg interfaces (Or at least appears to be.  That's what we're trying to determine).
