If I'm understanding correctly....when we upgrade to Platinum (already have)...and we already have upgraded to AD2 from X3 (which gave us three Adpaks)... we get an additional three ADpaks, three MIDIpaks, and any Kitpiece pak.
Can anyone confirm this to be fact...?
I have already pre-ordered, so I suppose it's a moot point :) ....but I am curious. If it is in fact true...it just makes upgrading to Platinum that much more of a value.
Here is what you really need to know. If you had Sonar X3 which gave you AD1 with the 3 add packs (Pro, Rock, and Studio kits) in order to get those included kits from AD1 to function in AD2 you have to purchase an upgrade to AD2 so that the new AD2 programing effects those kits, so that they work in AD2. If you do not upgrade the Pro, Rock, and Studio kits will only work in AD1.
So you're thinking, will if I go with Platinum I will be upgrading to AD2. Yes and no. You will have the new AD2 engine, but not the kits that came with your AD1, you will have to upgrade AD1 to AD2. Getting Platinum does give you a choice of any three kits programmed to work with the new AD2 engine, just do not expect the Pro, Studio, or Rock kits from AD1 to show up from AD1 because they will not, without the upgrade.
By the way if you like those kits the upgrade is a cheaper way to get those kits, then use the offer with Platinum to expand the kits you have to work with. That's what I ended up doing, as well as going with an offer to get both Fairfax kits, prior to upgrading to Platinum.
If you were a late adopter to X3 you may have gotten those kits when you were given an upgrade to AD2, because I bought X3 early, I was not given that option. So if you were an early adopter to Sonar X3, the above would apply. If you came to X3 late, I am not sure what you were given.
