Incidentally, Pro Tools 11 is the same way, you get no option for where to install.
I find it hard to comprehend that software companies will STILL do this...it's
ridiculous...especially in today's multi-hard drive, mulit-boot, multitasking world...
I also very much want stuff to go where
I want it to go. I believe the argument is, and I seem to recall it coming directly from a Cakewalk representative (and I'm paraphrasing), is that not having the option prevents the uninitiated from screwing things up [and then bothering Cakewalk to get help repairing things]. I can sort of understand that, but I'd really like to have an 'advanced' and maybe hard-to-get-to option through which I could have complete control.
Maybe now's the time, since the CCC is there for those that want it simple. All that is needed is for the separate installers to now allow all destinations to be specified. I have a feeling though that some parts of Sonar aren't programmed to be able to look elsewhere for what they need.
