Stickman: But it wouldn't be disruptive at all if there was a way to intentionally tun it on and off in the options.
New features don't necessitate lost functionality. A good working knowledge of the legacy products seems to be missing when this happens.

The problem with having new features/functionality be optional is that it would eventually create an unmanageable number of user options to set. Evolution of the PRV over the years has probably caused more consternation to more users than just about any other facet of SONAR. The more adept you are at using a given set of tools, the more disruptive a change can be. Once you get used to having the track focus follow note selection, I think you'll probably find the trade-off of losing one particular workflow that depends on there being no such link to be worthwhile.

If not, you can enter a formal Feature Request to make it an option. Or just generally request a feature that easily allows copying/moving notes between tracks in the PRV by drag 'n' drop, and let the Bakers come up with a solution that integrates well with the current functionality.

Yea. I hear ya brundelfly. I'm enjoying everything else and there are major improvements. I don't agree about too many options being unmanageable, but that just me. I like plenty of choices.
Well at lease it's solved in that I know I wasn't missing a button somewhere.

I'll get back work now so let's call this one solved, so thanks everyone, for talking it out with me.
I appreciate it and have learned a few things also.
