So have I :)
Installing AD2 now.

Have fun with it - so far it's rocking my world! The Black Velvet kit is a monster!!

With Professional all I get is one pak, I chose the Rock Classic? and it's a dud. Not one good kick or snare sound in it so I guess for now I will return to Session drummer which I have many great sounding kits. Only thing that looks interesting is AD has a reverb built in which would be nice.
So we can't load our own samples??
Also I was editing sound while Sonar was playing and my audio started stuttering??? So AD is not off to a good start for me.

Under settings maybe adjust MIDI Playback buffers (under MIDI playback and recording)?
I think AD2 is a bit of a CPU hog by the look of it. That's just a first impression.

Very happy with Fairfax, Vintage Dry and modern jazz sticks.
Happy with MIDI bundles American Rock, and Reel Machine Beats (really good!). Writers blocks sort of sucked, felt like there wasn't enough of them... Mind you will be playing my own loops I hope.

Yeah...

Which kits to pick is difficult for me... I hate selecting by name as there are so many opinions as to what type of sound is defined by a name...

I was hoping to find some way of hearing them before selecting... But the tone of the messages here makes me think otherwise...?

Well... It's a moot point for me right now as AD can't be downloaded to a different machine than its stall destination and last night I coyldnt get the DAW web connected... I've gotta fight with a wifi repeater to get connected to my neighbor's system and I just couldn't get it to connect last night... Yeah, that too... I can only do downloads after midnight and it's currently very cold in the studio by that time as well as me being tired and running my generator for too many hours... <sigh>... Life saga is never easy! ;-)

Keni - if you can download the AD2 demo first from XLN and you can hear audio clips of the different ADPaks. They will also offer to download a demo version of Fairfax 1 (minus some of the kit pieces) via the XLN installer. You can also hear samples of each kit piece and ADPak on their web site although I must admit some sounded better there than in the AD2 demo. I just uninstalled the demo and the demo Fairfax 1 before I entered my serial from Cake to choose my stuff.

I auditioned them all, twice, just to see what I would choose the day after my first impressions. I got Vintage Dry, Modern Jazz Brushes, and Session Percussion. I had already upgraded to AD2 and got Fairfax Vol 1 for an extra $10.

I spent another hour this morning going through the PlatinumSamples demos of Steve Ferrone, and the country midi. They (PS) show how their stuff shows up in the AD2 panels. Looks good! Anyone using PS stuff in AD2?

I almost went for the Fairfax but thought the Rock Classic would be the most generic. To bad I didn't pre view. I guess they have sales and special offers and I'll grab a few more down the road. It looks like it has a lot of editing options so this is all good. I'll get the hang of it.
I think I can tweak the sounds a little. And whats with the Hi hats being on a different note from GM? I'm getting a rim shot on F#?? That sucks.
Alex my Midi buffers are always at 1200. But you could be right. I figured this computer should never barf on one of my simple projects. I never go beyond 16 tracks ever and only 4 soft synths tops. Session drummer, True Piano, TTS-1 and sometimes Dim Pro. I might have 2 effects busses and a few Sonitus compressors. I haven't had audio issues since I ditched the Tascam us1641. so this freaked me out.

So far working in Professional for me is absolutely no different than Studio. It looks the same and other than the buttons for Mix Recall I forget I upgraded..
Not complaining as I don't want to fall behind, but this is not at all like going from 8.5 to X3. Kinda anticlimactic.

Thanks Alex...

I'll check them out as soon as I have the needed web access..

Do you know if the sounds given at this location are with or without any additional AD processing? I'd like to hear the raw samples if possible...
