Is this a bug?

I have a Midi Keyboard controller plugged in via USB.

If I forget to switch the thing on and then open a project in Cakewalk, all my MIDI assignments are screwed. Because the keyboard doesn't exist as an input device, Cakewalk decides to change all my midi assignments. For example I'll have my keyboard as the input midi device on my Halion Sonic instance, Halion selected as the target device and the correct port.

Following the above scenario, all my midi settings in track view for any virtual instrument get changed to the first in the list. I have to go back and edit them all back to the correct settings.

I'm using a "Default Lens" view - is this something to do with lenses?

I get this kind of thing too if I dont turn my VPC1 on first, but I usually remember and when I dont I just disable/enable it in midi preferences in Sonar and it kick back into gear. Not sure if its a bug really, more likely just a consequence of the design. But I dont know :)

Sonar has been that way as far back as I remember. Gotta have it plugged in before startup.

That's a pain. I regularly share Cakewalk projects with people and they don't have the same keyboard!
