This entire thread proves the axiom that I do not want to join any organization that would have me as a member.

From the "Members are also entitled to free technical support and discounted Membership renewals." quote I suspect the renewal will be more like $149

Well "I don't have facts to back me up," but my interpretation was there would be occasional specials to incentivize people to renew. Or maybe you'd get a special rate if you renewed early. I honestly don't know. Could take one of many forms.

We have gotten more info about the contents of this release than any other in memory.

There are videos on each of the new features and you have access to the online help file which gives all the details about some of the little less spectacular updates.

Go have a look at the Cakewalk website. It's been completely revamped and has a modern intuitive feel to it.

Anyone saying they have no idea what they're getting hasn't looked. The number of links that the bakers and others have dropped into threads is enormous. I wonder If some folks really follow them and learn.

And having had a look now at the offering, this would be one of tHe first Sonars that I could take into production nearly straight away. Usually I quarantine a new version until I'm completely satisfied it's OK. Based on the stability of X3e and what I've seen so far I'm very happy.

There have been a few issue mentioned but none of them are showstoppers nor are they yet confirmed bugs and I have all the same software and hardware mentioned and am not having those problems.

Another person suckered in by Cakewalk's cruel web of lies and deceit, fueled by hatred and contempt for its customers.

I just gave us a plug on GS. Not much being said over there, those people are pretty entrenched with their Macs and $1,000 DAW's.
This guy is in the market for an easy to learn daw, I baited the hook for you.

Wow 40 pages and still going strong, will the hosts move this to the coffee house when the smoke clears?
Has anyone read all 40 pages? I read the first 14 originally and now I only read the last page each day. If we compiled all the similar threads we'd be over 100 pages I think.

Maybe we need to form a support group for those who feel their resistance is breaking down.  :)

"Hi.  My name's Alex, and --- uh -- this is really hard -- OK, I have a DAW problem, alright?"

"Let it all out Alex.  We're here for you."

I'm obviously not asking Cakewalk to publish a list of bugs that exist in the new version (unless, of course, they can). I'm asking them to address improvements made to core functions shared between the old and new versions of the software. I mean, c'mon! They've got to know what they improved! Right?? It is generally a company's major sales technique for anything "new and improved" to tell the public...well...what is new and improved!! I got the new. What's the improved?

The link was to a bug fix list for X3/X3a and X3b, so it covered the ones from X2 to X3. Presumably the one for Platinum will include the ones from X3 to Platinum. It seems one bug that mattered to me is you can now bounce with MIDI FX in real time as well as fast bounce mode. Also...

I CAN PASTE BUS AUTOMATION FROM ONE BUS TO ANOTHER! FROM A BUS TO A TRACK! FROM A TRACK TO A BUS!!

I guess someone was listening to Stickman

Actually it seems like automation has a bunch of clean-ups. Maybe that happened in the process of doing Mix Recall.

There are plenty of bug fixes across multiple areas of the app. We fix bugs in parallel with development of new features and some commonly reported bugs get highlighted. For example a ton of editing and automation bugs got addressed as a result of mix recall since it serves as a giant macro for automating a large number of operations on track parameters and envelopes.
We will publish a list of known fixes when we get some bandwidth to sort through the database and separate stuff that was fixed as part of development vs older preexisting issues. Right now everyone is too busy with the immediate release to do that.

Thanks Noel. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

NICE OPTION FOR THE USERS. [HIRE-PURCHASE]
I took about an hour to read the posts. I would like to mention the following:

I. if user upgrades on monthly payment basis and later decides to discontinue, sonar should not go to demo mode rather to the point from where it was upgraded.

ii. there should be a brief notification on the upcoming planed additions/modifications so that users can contribute their ideas before it is done.

iii. Melodyne with pitch shift and time shift is not at all sufficient for serious users. Essentials to be upgraded. As if user has to buy Melodyne separately then inclusion of Melodyne is not any benefit [ARA certainly is]

iv. Cakewalk can have a CAL community.

Now my wish :
I. A chord track input Text entry, output MIDI (defined channel), Automation Lanes - Inversion, Octave, Hold, Transpose... as of now.
ii. Input list of a MIDI Track to have another option as Track. So Midi data can be send from one track to another MIDI track.
iii. Pattern Library (MIDI) which can be imported to Arpeggiator for MIDI Track.

Used Cakewalk from Calkwalk on Win3.1 !! came with soundblaster card.
Cakewalk is always strong in MIDI it can be stronger.
