It will be interesting to see if CW would allow this scenario.

Purchase on Mar 1 full up front. On Feb 28 2016 I see some cool feature is "announced" for delivery in March (the Talent Button). I pay for a month on March 1 2016. The feature (Talent Button) is delivered on March 31 2016. I opt-out on April 1 2016.

Do I get to keep the Talent Button forever?

Of course I would think that if I purchased a month on > March 1 1016, I am an opt-back-in and I need to pay 12 consecutive months to get to keep the Talent Button.

Don't worry about it. Contact sales and get them to set you up for automatic annual renewal

So in your scenario on April 1, Sonar would tell you you have "no Talent"?

(sorry )

I'm thinking they already know that now.

I also hope it is not ridden with beg screens. For example, I let a version (year) lapse and efx and instruments populate at each phone home that prompt for membership renewal if I view or I try to use them. I have enough trouble keeping up with the various instrument packs and/or sounds without them being populated by unworkable and, essentially, sales ads.

 I pay for a month on March 1 2016.

You can't subscribe only for one month. You have always to buy 12 months membership and you have to pay them in once or in monthly installment. If you cancel your payment during the contract period, you fall back to the level of the beginning.
The Sonar membership is a simple 12 month contract with only two payment options.

I see people mention "return to demo mode", but how it will work?

How Cakewalk will know if someone stopped paying?

Will Sonar act like a reverse stopwatch?

Some people said Sonar will not phone home, so for upfront payment membership maybe a date check by the app itself is enough.
