No, the releases are going to be named after cities and towns in Massachusetts.  The initial release is Allston.

After watching Craig Anderton interviewed by Steve Fortner for Keyboard mag, I got that they are doing away with versions. If you are paying or have paid (this year?), then you have (and will keep having) the latest version. In other words my version of Platinum will get updated (regularly, or continuously?) and then I'll always have the latest current version of Platinum, not X4 or X5, etc.
So, I guess I am going to be subscribing in a year for another $____ ($150 for Platinum).

I do appreciate the journey traveled to "platinum" was not easy.

Google provides 413,000,000 hits for "platinum."

So obviously the use of the word "platinum" is a so very pervasive, so very cool, and so very a clearly Pavlovian ploy. "The Platinum version has to be good, because it is the Platinum version."

Jump on the bandwagon.  Add "XP" to everything (2001), and of course one of the most annoyingly current memes: LIGHT GRAY TYPE ON BRILLIANT WHITE BACKGROUNDS.

Just like the insanity spread through the manager's ranks when TABs were introduced. "Put tabs on it. It will increase sales." So tabs were everywhere.

And of course: the "DECLUTTERING" mania of the last few years which has resulted in menus everywhere. Often Tabbed.

All this reminds me of Stuart on Mad TV: "Look what I can do."   Just fine for a seven year old.

"Professional should still be top of the line."

Just because CW is located in Mass should rule out Mass cities.  How about locations thought of as Paradises?

Also, regarding the trial version, I believe it will just be Artist.

Hi Dave-

Has CW said that somewhere? I can't remember now what the X3 demo was, but I though the trial was usually more the high end rather than the low end version. If it's definitely Artist, I might sign up for a month's membership to demo Platinum. Still deciding.

Edit: Actually, the Artist demo would probably be enough, looking at the comparison chart again.

Thanks-

Hmm, I scanned the whole thread and didn't find any official statement from the Bakers in this regard.  I may be repeating speculation from another member, so for that I apologize.

No problem at all. I actually just went ahead and paid for a month's Platinum membership. I figured my time debating with myself is worth something!

Too bad only Artist to have a trial version.
Say it ain't so.
I need to test Platinum to help me decide.

And before the $149 intro offer expires.
JRR last time I looked stopped the additional discount.

Hi Vas-

So you did try the "GROUP" discount code? I thought maybe they'd give a warning that they were discontinuing it.

Thanks-

Coupon code "group" is not valid.

I still will like a test ride on the Platinum before pulling the trigger.
