I received an email today that said 'Ending Soon'.  From the email:

Upgrade to SONAR Platinum - Intro offer ends soon!
You can upgrade from your version of SONAR X3 Producer to SONAR Platinum for the special introductory of $149. In addition, you now have the option to pay monthly with an introductory rate of $14.99/month. Both options include SONAR Membership, which entitle you to all the new features we released today plus future innovations, delivered monthly.

I'm sort of amazed (and disappointed) that I've received no email from Cakewalk (I am a long-time customer and Sonar owner). If I didn't check in here occasionally, I wouldn't even had known there was a new version. :/

But I am a happy Platinum owner now.

Freaked me out enough to buy the product today :). I am Platinum!!

Pretty much the same here. I went ahead and signed up! I won't be surprised if they occasionally offer that price again with swa video thrown in, but I didn't want to take any chances.

which is why I'll wait. I'd rather get it a few patches/updates down the line, like  last year.. if they don't want to offer us a price later like that, like last year , that's fine.the cobwebs on my wallet will stay intact. if that's what the subs model replaced.

I am getting better at marketing dept. poker.

Same here, artturner, I never get any emails from Cakewalk. It's really annoying!

I just purchased the upgrade. It will be about a week before I can download it and install it. I did not want to miss out on the cheap price. I am glad I held off the upgrade for addictive drums 2. That is even more money that I get to keep.

It looks like 'SOON' is a relative term. Be a good sheep and order now!

I haven't seen too much to make me break out the wallet yet. Cool stuff. but if they are only going to allow a 1-2 week window to upgrade, I'll pass.

I am waiting to see what others are saying about performance and workflow enhancements. I like the saved mix  presets, but that and vocal sync is about it so far.

I like the new options of monthly updates. Finally hope for the end user to get their issues fixed more frequently instead of having to pay for the next release to see any improvements on reported issues.

I'll keep following to see what happens in the next few weeks to decide if I upgrade or not. If the $149 is only for a couple weeks, I will pass on the upgrade altogether.

I was thinking like Guitarmech111 at first. I won't use vocal sync and already have AD2 and the other stuff, so no joy. I upgraded for all the not so glitzy improvements and to me, that's where the real value is. The control bar is much nicer, multiple sends in view plus a new fx bin. And to make things like Mix recall work they likely had to streamline things under the hood. The fact that it doesn't look that much different is a good thing and the fact that versions are gone is a good thing.

I really hope some of my pet issues get sorted along the way (like meter management) and there's no shortage of improvements to make in the future.

yeah I went ahead and upgraded.  I have a feelling this is for the $150 pay-up-font upgrade, vs the $200 that will be the new membership renewal fee, if they chose to pull the current offer.

I've been very pleased with the upgrade.  The differences are more subtle than the X3 upgrade, but definitely some workflow improvements.
