  • Command Centre, you don't have to put on the red light (or walk the streets for money)... (p.2)

So I guess it's up to us to decide whether we care if it's wrong or it's right I assume...
My mind isn't made up but I have put away my makeup...

I WILL NOT install what I already have from previous installs

I only installed the Core, the CA Stuff, AD2, and the Help & Tutorials over X1, X2, and X3.  It does seem a little contrary to the whole concept of having the command center?  Part of it's job is to monitor our products and let us know when there are updates or fixes available.  My situation is probably like most users who have been working with SONAR products for a while.....lots of red lights.  I can live with the red lights but it is troublesome to me that I might not be aware that there are updates for a "red light item".  Maybe it's not likely that there will be any improvements for many of those, but how would we know?  Think that Cake would let us know through the forum?.....or maybe they'll consider some of the the previous suggestions and update the Command Center so we can all sleep at night knowing that all of our lights are green!?  I'm sure it will all get worked out!  Really liking Platinum so far.......but as far as the Command Center goes........ I'm thinkin' "it's a bad way".......to leave the red lights on even though those products are there.

Just bit the bullet and ran them.
All green now, red dots all gone!
No issue with Melodyne Editor, just get the standard windows re-install/Repair window - Still have all algorithms.
AD2 No problem all Kits & Beats are still there.
My experience was: if you don't like the Red Lights just run the install.
Only, one small hiccup, when completed Command Center showed 2 full installs of everything, closed and restarted, all back to normal, (might have been a "glip" on my PC.

The only real hassle I see is if you have non standard paths for plugins that the one setting in the paths wont take care of. Like I have folders for each manufacturer within my VST Plugins folder that I can specify. it would mean a manual move of all those reinstalled plugins.

why on earth we get to choose where VST3s go when no other plugin I have (and believe me I've got some) when no others give such an option.

All my plugins go to a different folder from default, I don't see need for subfolders personally other than seperating whether they are 64/32 bit etc. I just made sure in settings that the CC knew about it before I installed. No problems whatsoever. It should though have imported the folder path settings from X3 by default.IMHO.

Logic tells me there is no need to re-install them, as if there are updates in any of them...  Dim Pro update, anyone??  ...we would hear about it around these forums for sure...THEN, you can u/l the newer version and get yer green light.  We're smart, Cakewalk using musicians...right?? :-D

Besides, I expect this to be rectified down the line, but isn't at the top of the list, as compared to core program bugs...eh?  They know about it.  I imagine all previous stuff purchased, some day might be migrated into the command ctr as well.  So... ...  Should we be able to change the GUI and color fonts in the command ctr??  Feature request !!  lol!!!

You guys do realize that if you click the gear box in command center, you have folder options there, right?

One more option - you can "hide" the items if you don't want to see the red lights.
