Hi-
I started a new project in Platinum and had no problem reproducing it. Here are my steps:
1. Insert Addictive Keys as a Simple Instrument track.
2. Insert Strum Acoustic as a Simple Instrument track.
3. Insert a new MIDI track.
The Console View > Strips has Audio, MIDI and Instrument strips checked and all three are visible (Addictive Keys, Strum Acoustic and the additional MIDI track.)
I unchecked MIDI and all three disappeared.
Thanks-
-Susan
My first reply post seems to have blown up - I looked into this and it is definitely wonky behavior which goes back to at least X3. I filed a Problem report with X3e producer x64. It is #
CWBRN-26182 (Which showed "status changed" shortly after I submitted it, but I never got any additional feedback on it.
I just experimented with a project from X3 which has 5 MIDI tracks in it - along with some simple Instrument Tracks and Audio tracks. The filter displayed only 2 of the 5 MIDI tracks. (The 2 are at the top of the project and are routed to my DAW Midi outputs but are muted - just marker tracks; the 3 others are later in the project, and are routed to effects in the other tracks). To those who say this is "expected behavior" as a minimum (IMO) Cake needs to eliminate the ambiguity of including the "Instrument Track" filter option, then deciding to treat it like a MIDI track, and an AUDIO track - the 3 filter choices should be sufficient if used at face value to display the type of track desired.
However there is something else wrong (why only 2 out of 5 MIDI tracks actually display in the case above) - the only apparent differences for those tracks are placement in the project (discontinuity) or routing (the 2 found by the filter are routed directly to the DAW's MIDI outputs - The 3 not found are routed to Effect Midi inputs suggesting SONAR is treating these Midi Tracks differently.
