Does Sonar Platinum come with free MP3 converter? Thanks

no... at least not as advertised.  If you have an older version, it will migrate to Platinum.  Typically you bought it for cheap... after a 30 day trial or whatever.  I bought it (got it free with my $25 voucher) when Cake had a special going on awhile back.

I thought maybe in the Platinum package it would come for free, oh well. Thanks

Actually this conversation comes up with each new release.  I think it's $10 or something.  There are free ones to be had for sure.

I didn't even get a free trial of the mp3 converter. that's weird?  

honestly I don't remember the last time I had the free trial...maybe Sonar 7??  But it works as good as any, if there were any concerns.  Just another option when exporting, with the advanced tab to select bit rate, etc.

I honestly think it's about time Cakewalk included this. I understand that it will add slightly to the expense but it's a really, really common need and if they'd include it they might actually feel obliged to do some upkeep and fix issues. I bought it but never use it because it doesn't report song length correctly.

I just use iTunes to convert files to MP3 if I need to do that.
