So I finally got my real account working and just bought Professional.
Because for my internet I pay $10 per Gig for anything over 3 Gigs per month, I might have to drag my frign 25lb desktop DAW into town to download it.
Other option would be to download it to a laptop and transfer,  but they are recommending not going that route. It would seem the best way to install it is via the command center directly to the computer being used.
I'm not sure if you can download it with out the command center. And if you install the commend center does it download and stop there. In other words you don't have to install it on the download computer?

So if Professional is only around 4 Gigs I could suck up the extra $10 and go dirrect. But if it's over 6 gigs that really starts to hurt.

So could one of you wonderful ( and wise ) folks please check the file size for me. I can't get that info from the download site because of the command center. In the past the download was a simple file and told you how big it was.
I'm not liking this Command Center trip , it's too much like Steinberg's elicencer.
A dongle option would have been nice, hint hint....

Ok, so I have Platinum.  Downloading everything except Dim Pro and Rapture was slightly under 6 Gb.

However, if you already have X3 Producer, I think you only need to download Professional set up which looks like 300Mb, Anderton's Collection which looks like 40Mb (if that comes with Professional, not sure) and maybe the help and tutorials which check in at a hefty 1.2Gb.

I am not sure exactly how to just download the selected stuff, but I think someone might be able to help.

Thanks for that, I would think that Professional would be smaller than Platinum.
And I guess I should have been more clear, What I want to know is the size of just the actual file - Sonar Professional only.
I'm not interested in most of the stuff on the list, I don't really need it.
I just want the DAW software.
I will download the extra stuff later.
I will want to try AD 2,
I already have more soft synths and samples than I could use in the next 30 years ,, hmm I'll be 92 years old!

Those are the file sizes in the download directory for C3 (not the size of the installed application).

I guess nobody bought Professional?
And that brings up the question of if the command center downloads to your download folder or to a temp file that gets deleted.

It downloads to a downloads folder that you can specify in command center.  The default is NOT your standard downloads folder that is set up by windows automatically.  It is a specific Cakewalk folder.  After installation, you can move/delete the files if you want.

Well I thought I'd start the download just to see and it said it was 300 some odd MB so that's OK with me.
Trouble is I tried 3 times and all 3 times it said there was an unknown Network error at around 200MB. Same spot all 3 times so I doubt this is my internet randomly dropping out.

I'm back to lugging the desktop to town and trying with the Command center.

Oh and the stupid Command Centers updater is buggy, It said there was and update, So I said OK and it sat for 15 minutes with the circle going around, I closed it and tried again, got the same thing. I went to the support page and downloaded it no problem and installed the new version.
That's not a good sign for an app that's made to update software!!

Just wondering, IF I decided to get the new version of Sonar (possibly platinum) what is the procedure as the computer I use is outside of WIFI range so I cannot download directly to it?

Cheers

apologies if this has already been covered

Correct me if I am mistaken, but if I upgrade to Platinum, could I not just take my Lacie external HD to the office and use the super fast connection there to load files on to the Lacie and then transfer them to the Desktop when I get home. And, then load?
