  • [Solved] Sonar Platinum: Prochannel EQ not working

Just installed the Platinum, trying it out. First tried to open X2-project, and it tells me that the track EQ is missing. Strange. The EQ interface seemed to be on the track, but it didn't work. So I tried to close the program, even boot the computer, and start a fresh new project, add only one audio file, and try it out. The EQ does not respond to adjustments. As seen in the picture, prochannel is on, the EQ is on, the buttons are adjusted, but the line is straigt and sound is unchanged. Nothing happens. I noticed that the tube-plugin is also dead, and the default compressor. Other plugins work normally.

I have a suggestion, that might have an affect. Maybe? You see, I uninstalled X2 _after_ I installed Platinum. Is there a possibility that there are files in same folder, that X2 uninstall deleted? Anyways, I uninstalled the Platinum, and reinstalled. Now the plugins work. At least the Command Center used previously downloaded files, so installing did not take forever. But, not a promising start. To your knowledge.

I had the same problem with the Prochannel compressor and  tube saturation modules not working. I uninstalled X3 after installing Platinium. I went to my online account and downloaded Sonar Platinium manually & reinstalled it and now the modules work fine.

I have a theory why this happens. When you install Platinum, I think it sees you have ProChannel modules so doesn't install them. When you uninstall an earlier version, it takes out the ProChannel modules but doesn't tell Platinum they don't exist any more.

At least that's probably a better theory than poltergeists.

I like the poltergeist theory.

That theory sounds good.
I emailed support yesterday about mine .. it's just the new REmatrix Solo missing... not in my PC menu.
I tried reinstalling platinum both through C3 and manually with no luck.
So I won't rule out poltergeists having a finger in that pie yet lol.

I think one should always when upgrading do a reset and rescan to be sure to catch all your plugins.

Yes indeed, always the first thing I do is to make sure there are no plugs or addons having issue with the new install etc.
But in my case it failed to show up.
Paths to everything are also correct, in both software and registry.
It's strange and unusual.

this - uninstalling a version breaking some other version still installed - put me off installing the x3 demo
will the new demo version, if uninstalled, leave my 8.5.3 alone? or do i need to take precautions like system restore, etc?
