Just in case the OP is specifically referring to Kontakt, I noticed the NI Service Center had an update posted last week (1/15/15) and the info for that patch specifically addressed a bug with the Roland Quad Capture.

The "QUAD-CAPTURE System Update Version 1.04" is the firmware update (the software which drives the box internally).

If you do not have the "QUAD-CAPTURE USB Driver Ver. 1.5.2 for Windows 8/8.1/7/Vista/XP" installed, you will want to do that as well (uninstall the old version first per the instructions).

I am also using Quad Capture and it works fine. Sometimes it causes freeze when I have larger orchestral project opened. It seems that device is not very capable to run projects "on the edge" of computer resources (95% CPU usage, 25GB of RAM loaded). My Focusrite Pro 40 works much better for this purpose. And yes I have all the latest updates.

Same here, using the Quad Capture without problems. I run the latest drivers+firmware+win8.1 64 bit and Platinum.
