I love these new version roll outs on the Forum. It is an exciting and fun time. But the Troll infestation is getting to be WAY too much. "If I don't make my 12th payment will they take my car?" They ask for help but don't listen then they insult everyone and are gone. Then show up the next day asking something else. I am completely impressed with the Bakers patience and willingness to help people who have questions. I know it is hard guys but we are all noticing. They should be put up for sainthood. Does anyone have The Pope's cell number? (if anyone on this Forum does have it, it would be BAPU. IIRC they were in a band together called "Pope John Paul and the George and Ringos" back in the 70's?) Anywho, you're doing a great job of answering all the questions and helping us through this time of (and not as much as I thought it was) change.

+1...I stayed up past my bedtime last night infatuated with all the bakers here patiently (and so eloquently) responding to knuckleheads (people not checking FAQs etc) whining about the same silly stuff.

There will always be a group like that anywhere you go. The larger enlightened group just needs to endure the spit and vinegar for a little while. We know we have it good in Cakewalk land and most folks know it too. Really, only a few, but very vocal, are redundantly hating on SONAR. Some folks just can't be convinced for one reason or another. I suggest we just move forward and enjoy the fruits of the outstanding Bakers' labor.

Don't worry its under control.

This sort of thing is to be expected. It happens every time CW releases a new version.

This is nothing like the X1 release. That was epic!

Actually, a lot of the "knuckleheads" is just one person (currently going by "Andrasin"), who's possibly a child based his level of spelling and reading comprehension. He thinks he's clever to have figured out that he can re-register after being banned and continue making defamatory statements. His MO is to claim how horrible SONAR is, but he won't ask for help, and won't verbalize his problem in any way that would allow people to help him enjoy the same level of performance as others. His other MO is to claim the membership program is a huge screw job on Cakewalk customers created by evil people who want to extract every last penny from you and that we're idiots for not realizing that. I think we should take up a collection and buy him another DAW so he can continue being an idiot in some other forum.

It drives me crazy....all the complaining. It will cost me $150 to go Platinum which I will pay in full as I have always done since I updated Pro Audio 8 to Pro Audio 9. I will more than make that $$ back with the first two projects in my home studio. I see nothing for me to complain about. I am excited that I can keep the software at the end of the 12 months (as I have always done since Pro Audio 8). I am also very excited about the new features, mainly improved Audio Snap (hopefully) and drum replacement.

I've been feeling embarrassed for us as a community.  So many of these questions are answered in the promotional materials.

It's as if some people are just skimming until they get to the price, and then they freak out.

Everyone has been very patient, bakers and forum members.

I got an email about Isotope RX on sale for $999.  That's 1k for a small suite of plugs.  They are great plugs, but when you can get an entire DAW packed with more features than you can practically list for HALF that price, it's hard to make the case that Cakewalk is asking too much.  For the amount of work that goes into it, and the scope of functionality, Sonar is a ridiculous value.

I don't know if I like the new model better than the old because I haven't experienced it yet, but as a long-time customer (15 years), I have grown to trust the bakers.  They have survived a saturated and competitive market while charging less than many of their competitors (and while operating out of Boston, U.S.- an expensive place to operate a business).

I'm looking forward to putting the new Sonar through the paces.

I feel like my part in this is to buy Sonar, if I want to, and their part is to take the next 11 1/2 months to make me want to go again. I am totally willing to go along with that.
