Hi guys, Last July I purchased X3 and installed it on a brand new computer, I'm really interested in purchasing platinum and joining the membership. My question is this, Will I have to Uninstall X3 from my system before I install Platinum. Also will my current projects transfer into platinum? and will platinum be able to see my 3rd party plugins after I install it. Thanks in advance guys.

No, you don't need to uninstall X3.......you can use even earlier versions if you have them
Yes, all your X3 projects will work/transfer in Platinum
Yes, all 3rd party plugs work just as in X3 (actually, you don't have to even re-install any of them.....it shows up in Platinum).

Do the upgrade!!!

There is no requirement to remove X3. If you choose to remove it, do it before installing Platinum. Both versions can exist on the same PC and both will be available for use. Current projects should work in Platinum and so should your 3rd party plug-ins.

To get any updates, you'll definitely need to have your DAW to be online at some point........not really sure how Cake is doing this for non-online installs.

You may need to download each item separately and install them via a thumb drive or something else.......hopefully someone else can chime in and confirm.

Thats a pity, It's a bit of an inconvenience having to bring my studio pc into the house to update every so often.

I have a similar issue, install of X3 on a brand new custom laptop and now I want to install Platinum but I don't want to connect to the net if I can avoid it.
Surely CW must realise that after there are so many issues with latency and Wi-Fi adaptors etc that certain people keep their music laptop as "clean" as possible. We should not be penalised or inconvenienced because we don't want to keep our music pc connected to the internet.
I can't even download the installers on to my music laptop because the Wi-Fi is so useless where I am, so I have to use the work connection and then transfer all the installers to my laptop. I haven't started the install yet as I want to make sure I know the correct procedure to follow.
So many people saying they are happy with Platinum, I'd love to be able to join them asap!

I'm thinking that if I bring the studio computer into the house, download the CCO and download Platinum on a monthly membership, then every month I could use a usb stick for offline authorization and any updates that are made available. Could anyone tell me if this would be the case. If so I will defo go for it.
