Which version of Home studio do you own. If it is the latest version then all that has changed.
How it works now is the same in both HS and all versions. They just did a major overhaul of PVR and if you have the HS that was just updated this fall then you will be using the new system.
First if you colour your tracks it will make overlapping midi tracks easier to manage.
I have colours for each instrument = Blue is Bass , Red is Drums etc.
Now when you open PVR if you open your bass track the notes will be blue.
Also what has changed and is one of my most used and beloved new features is the right hand side bar where you can chose the tracks. This is faster than the old method. And if you hold down CTRL and select a new track the first track will still remain visible but ghosted. The side bar has just made this real fast to do.
If you are using an older version of HS it is possible that feature shown was only availlable in the uper versions. HS is a stripped down version and many slick features are what is missing.
