Here is a new song I wrote and made.

It still needs some work there is no guitar solo yet, I may add a piano, a fiddle, mandolin, organs... and the vocal need a bit of timing editing, oh, and drum rolls. :)

But, I thought I would give you awesome Cakewalk peeps a bit of a preview.

I edited the timing on the vocals, I am sure it was irritating to some. :)

Any suggestions on this song would be greatly appreciated.

Cakewalk surely accommodated this song well when using it to record; I have been using Cakewalk since DOS and I would not dream of using any other program to record.

I recently bought a new acoustic guitar pickup from Amazon it was all of 15 dollars and it is perhaps the best pickup I have ever owned and I have quite a few of them. Also I bought brass pegs that hold the stings in place and they give the guitar a nice resonance and sustain to the strings as in this particular recording.

If anyone wants the links to these two Amazon items please ask and I will provide them.

Together they have given my cheap 100 dollar acoustic guitar new life.

The acoustic guitar part was played twice once in the left ear and once in the right ear both with an identical strumming pattern.

Got any ideas for this song? Please suggest away and thanks for the listens.

Yeee Haw!

Maybe just a little too much mid range. But I've been recording and arranging all day so my ears may be shot.

This is a genre I never listen to but I liked the song so much (even tho it's not finished) that I'll make a comment. Really nice vocal, perfect for the genre. Engaging melody too and lyrics. I can still hear it in my head and it's been awhile since I listened.
Seems like a real old time Country style of song. I remember hearing cowboy and truck driver songs on the radio years (and years) ago. So do they still write these songs today?

I have edited this song again, added a lot of vocal harmonies and some unison doubling vocal sections too and three harmonica solos along with an alto choir in the left ear.

I hope the changes are good to your ears!

Please leave comments, criticisms and suggestions they are all totally welcome.

This may not be your favorite music style but I hope it is okay in general as I love to experiment with many varying styles and genres.

Many thanks for the listens peeps, Cakewalk Forever! :)

Bapu I noticed the midrange accentuation and toned it down i think, Your ears were correct.

I am a rocker and perhaps my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and The Stones...

But I occasionally write western songs like this because the possibility still exists.

Not everything has been done, sometimes, things get missed and we can fill in holes overlooked by time.

Everything does not have to be outrageous and exaggerated today to be new, we can find things that are somehow missed by the great artists of the past and simply fill in the missing colors.

It is also nice to hear old styles reintroduced in 48khz 24bit fidelity also.

This is fabulous. A terrific tune - lyrics and melody are all pro. The arrangement is solid and the vocal is heartfelt. I hope you find an audience and pursue your talent.
