I'd certainly like to see a response from Cakewalk as to their thinking behind the current color customization functionality. I'm absolutely loving Platinum and it's by far and away the best version of Sonar to date, but I have to admit when I'm watching video tutorials which use certain other DAW's and I see their pretty color coded clips it does make me a little jealous. Give us the option to set a per-track clip background color and I will be happy as a pig in the proverbial. My brain responds very well to color in terms of organization and grouping, yet I find that when I look at an overview of my project in the clips pane, the coloring coding of the clip data isn't strong enough. I really need the clip backgrounds to be colored but it's just too much trouble to do this on a per-clip basis.
