  • Sonar Platinum installation removed my Z3TA 2 installation without asking permission !?!

I guess I was naive to think upgrading from X3 to 2015 wasn't going to be disruptive.
I just hope my sound patches aren't also gone.

Also Sonar doesn't show my account name and is apparently running in demo mode, even though I installed it while logged into the Cakewalk Command Center.

My z3ta2 is still ok after Platinum installation.

I also do not see my name in "About", just SN. But it is not in demo mode (I can save projects for example).

You say it removed Z3ta have you done a search of the install drive to check that fact?

FYI-when I installed Platinum the automatic scan missed a couple of my VSTis but when I rescanned all VSTis/VSTs from within the program they came back.  YMMV.

No problem here......everything is A-OK with ZETA+2.  I did not do the complete install.  Installed Platinum, the CA_ Effects, Help and Tutorials, and AD2.  That process left everything the way it was in X3e Producer.  I chose to have it migrate my X3 preferences (despite some sentiment to avoid that).  That worked well too leaving only a couple of minor tweaks being required.  All of my instruments, plugs, etc. all came across fine.  Sorry to hear that your results weren't the same.

Not disruptive here. Zeta is fine also. Account name is blank on all-serial @# and the word legal are what you look for.

Yes, everything seems to happen to you. That's just amazing.

Do a VST scan and make sure the scanner has the location of Zeta as a scan path (it is HIGHLY unlikely that the Command Center uninstalled Zeta). Also you may just need to refresh your synth/plugin browser but I forget how to do that. I think you just press F5 with the browser in focus.

As far as your name missing from your account and the demo mode it sounds like you may not be logged in with the correct email. A few people had this problem. For whatever reason they had two emails associated somehow with their Single Sign On (one for forum, one for the strore I guess) so make sure you are logged into the correct account, that your purchase of the upgrade to the New Sonar is in it then try again or try using the the offline installer instructions.

I have not tried CC nor do I have the new Sonar so these are just semi educated guesses based on what others have been posting.

Although it doesn't sound like the exact issue it discusses login stuff and account oddities so maybe you find an answer buried in there somewhere.

Thanks for all the answers!

I did check the Z3TA install folder before posting...  the folder is there, but its empty.
Well, admittedly, I didn't check for hidden files, I could do that.

I'll try the rescan some of you suggested anyway.

And thanks much for the link on getting old stuff back, (and the other details) Beepster!
