Soloing inside SONAR, not Superior.

Okaaaay... so either my Platinum install is broken (seems unlikely) or some other piece of the puzzle is missing either in terms of config settings or project setup. I thought it might have something to do with Always Echo Current MIDI Track, which I usually have disabled, but that didn't make any difference.

I guess I'll have to wait for some more more users to weigh in. I'm not seeing any change in behavior from X3e, except with this one project which turns out to have something going on with the MIDI track where muting the parent has no effect, but muting the one and only lane in the track silences the output. Other than this one track in this one project, I'm not seeing that behavior with drum-mapped tracks.

Here is X3e Drum Map Not Working

Here is Platinum Drum Map Working

Same project same drum map

Oh crud...... audio not captured. It does work though. Pay close attention to the meters on the tracks solo'd.

I tested and you can in fact solo the midi track of a non bounced kit piece in AD2 that is mapped, and it plays soloed. Its a wonderful thing.

Just to be clear, I'm using ezDrummer with a drum map using multiple outputs with each piece of the drum kit going to its own channel in the mixer.  Before this release, I was unable to solo a particular piece of the kit (e.g. hi hat) without first having to solo the midi track. Now I can just hit solo and hear that piece of the kit.

Thanks, Bapu. That's pretty interesting, and different from what I get in both X3 and Platinum. What I see  in both X3 and Platinum is that the first time I start playback after enabling solo on the audio track, the MIDI meter shows activity, but there is no output from the synth. If I restart playback with the audio track solo still enabled, the MIDI meter goes quiet as well.

Both your X3 and Platinum vids are a little odd in that when you start playback with nothing soloed, the MIDI meter is showing no activity, but the audio meters are. Then when you solo an audio track, the MIDI track meter becomes active. What's up with that? Also I saw you initially reach for the folder's solo button, and it appeared you clicked it, but it did not enable...?

After seenig that, I tried putting my MIDI track in the same folder together with the Audio outputs. That appeared to work momentarily, but then broke again the next time I started playback.

I'll have to keep looking at it.

Maybe latency? That project is @ 1024 buffers.

No I did not reach for it no did I click it, I just moved the mouse too far and back tracked (see what I did there?).

I have not tried with EZ, but YES, I have the same scenario set up with AD2 going to multiple outs and it works perfectly now. You can solo without having to solo the midi source track.

Yup, same here but using Superior in my vids above.
(I do need to work out why audio was not in the vids).

Well, I just experimented with a new project, and now it is NOT working!  Same exact set up in a new project, same drum map, but now the solo of individual kit pieces is NOT working without soloing the midi track too.  THis is quite strange.  More to follow....
