Seems like a pretty reasonable upgrade price to me.

Beyond that, this isn't just an upgrade this time around. This is a whole new development process for Cakewalk which is going to benefit customers tremendously.

Yes, TH2 Producer was bundled with X2 and X3 Producer too. Fewer amps and effects than the full version of TH2.

Platinum contains is the same TH2 Producer that was bundled with X3 Producer
The other versions contain a lesser version called TH2 SONAR.

BUT now you also get some amp sims designed by yours truly. Just like I started designing stompbox circuits because I wasn't happy with what was out there, I'm now doing the same thing in the virtual world. They're not intended to be simulations of existing amps - we have enough software along those lines, doncha think? These are intended to create amp sounds that could exist only in the virtual world. I think of them as "idealized" amps - the amp sounds you hear in your head. (Or at least, the ones I hear in my head!)

Basically, what would have been X4 and after 12 months, for which you will not have paid anything extra, you'll have the equivalent of what would have been X5. I suspect we'll have a lot more people saying "hello" to a deal like that than "bye-bye."
