After installing the command center, and upgrading form X1 to Professional, do I need to stay connected to the internet to run Sonar?
 
Also will my Dimension Pro and PC modules be available once I upgrade?

No you can unplug. The only reason to re connect will be to allow the CC to look for updates, Just like all software if on line and set to automatic you never have to worry about it, but myself I always choose manual. I bought a wireless USB thing and I can just pull it out when working. 

Thanks a lot JohnnyV. I've got a USB thing for wifi also in order to connect when necessary.

Yes, this is exactly what I do with my DAW
 
I also have Platinum installed on my regular desktop so it's easy to see by the build number if there has been an update

Will l there be any announcements of fixes/add ons for those of us not connected to the web?
