I have a new system, newly installed X1, and the X1a. When doing "Bounce to tracks" all tracks, and then "Export Audio", Sonar crashes. What to do?

Hi JM - had this problem a while ago but after a reboot it seemed to work... have you tried rebooting??

what are your system specs??

So, after restarting X1 export audio works Ok.

I'm working on Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1.

Maybe the fault of SP1, because the system before reinstalling everything was Ok.

  Hi:

I was having same problem. SONAR X1 hangs on ShellExt64.dll causing crash.

I could resolve it by un-checking te "64 bit engine" option in Export dialog.

Sonar works like a charm now for me.

My system is exactly as yours: Win 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 + SONAR X1 with X1c update + M-AUDIO Fast Track Ultra 8R with native drivers (not ASIO4ALL)

I hope this information could help you, or other people with the same problem. I'd expended very much time to resolve.

Best regards:

Upgrade IMMEDIATELY to X1C

Then try it again, then report back if it's still causing you problems.

Hi Bristol_Jonesey:
I'd upgraded SONAR to X1c, but even I can't to export audio if "64 bit engine" option is enabled in Export Audio dialog.

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bits & M-AUDIO FastTrack Ultra 8R in a Quad core with 12 Gb RAM & 4 Tb internal HDD, ATI Sapphire (Radeon HD 4800 series).

I would like to resolve this for more accuracy in exporting proccess (and no hanging or crash, of course ;-)

If anybody knows how to resolve this, please help needed...

Uncheck "Fast Bounce" - see what happens.

Most likely explanation, especially if you're using samplers, is that you're running out of memory. Turning off the 64-bit option cuts your RAM requirements nearly in half. Try freezing one or more of your sampled instruments before the export.

Hi Bristol_Jonesey:

First, very much thanks for your help. Well, I'd tried with unchecking "Fast Bounce" and the same occurs. Sonar only runs well in Audio Exporting with "64 bit engine" unchecked. It's not a capital fail (I can export audio in all bit depth resolutions), but it's a fail ;-)

Ok, I'll try freezing my sampled instruments, and will see what happens. But it'll be tomorroy. I think my system will not put up with more "restarts" ha ha ha.

Excuse me, please, for my English writing (I'm from Spain) and thank you both (in advance too) for your explanations and attempts to resolve this issue.
