I'm sure BandLab has bigger fish to fry.

I agree with this 100%

I like the format on www.tenforums.com  "windows 10 forum" (not a Microsoft site).

Will we now get a better way of cooperating online with projects?
I mean a better file to send than just WAV files or the CWB.
Like a file that is linked to the mother project through internet or something?
And that the project is OK in timing and effects gets rendered/freeze, so the other end gets the whole sound?

It would be wonderful, if possible, to be able to upload screenshots, photos, directly to the forum instead of having to use image hosting sites.  Not a biggie though.  Whatever you decide I will work with that.

I understand why forums don't allow this due to server space, but expand on the value of Thedccal's, here is a post I made with instructions on how to di something I kept seeing being asked.  Screen prints really make writing these instructions much easier. This post has a stack of small prints for each step, but they have gone. I've seen this with other posters too. Having them in the forum portects against this.

Definitely a good point!  If the forum is to be viewed as a knowledge base as well as a community for discussion.

To step in here...  this was discussed at length between the Bakers and the new Hosts when Hosts were first introduced and the old forum/back end was updated to what we have now.

The argument "for" was convenience.

The argument "against" was...
We are not a hosting company...

BandLab may take a different view,  they are already a hosting company after all...

So I guess it was appropriate for me to post 3 days ago requesting this feature to BandLab, as others have since...

Just saying... I came across this site today his explains a lot about Cakewalk/Sonar
If you read all of it like I did, I think it's a good idea IMO to trash this forum, as I have been placed in the position of having to defend myself many times for a simple view of my truth.... And I'm posting this for the Lab to consider... Don't let the memories of this "Gibson/Cakewalk" forum and it's reputation carry on in any case! Just as I see it... I know we can get buy with out it and I know that many will agree with me, but not in public. lol

This last fall only a handful of members where giving real help anyway. I was even offered a job to to create videos and tech help. though I have no idea why. lol We always have to repeat the help we give anyway to the next new member. The new forum needs to be done right this time... no more bashing someone for asking a question that may seem to be "the wrong way to ask" to some.... and no more jumping on people who come for help angry and frustrated because they cant get something to work... That kills the DAW... :( Moving into the future fresh is the Smart move! and not putting former Cakewalk management "in charge" anything is a huge mistake as well... Sorry but true. Someone at Cakewalk drove it into the ground! Life time free updates??? who does that? who gives away new products like the CA-2A to people who already paid almost nothing for a lifetime of updates? How much other stuff came free? when most real users just want want they have to work. I'm as always just calling it as I SEE It.

Why was it discussed with the hosts? Sure the Bakers should either make decision or discuss with the community and make the decision. The hosts don't represent the community.

Perhaps not, but that seems a bit harsh considering they are volunteers.

In my experience, the Forum Hosts/Moderators have been a consistent presence here. There's usually at least one around. It seems to me they should have pretty good insight into what is/isn't working.

We'll have to wait and see how much influence the community has on the new owners, but this thread is evidence they are willing to consider our input.

On a whole I agree they do a great job, but I stand by my comment that they do not represent us, we had no say in their appointment.
