  • No VST scan in 32-bit Platinum

Installed Platinum originally from Command Center and it automatically defaulted to install 64-bit version.  I was previously using 32-bit X3 with several 32-bit DXi's and realized I could probably download and install a 32-bit version of Platinum from my Cakewalk account online.  Install seemed to work fine.  However, none of my VSTs appeared.  When I go to run a VST scan, I get a message that a VST scan is already running.  There's no evidence of a VST scan after waiting 10 or more minutes.  Have tried closing and re-opening Platinum but I get the same result every time.  Any thoughts/ solutions?

Look in the process tab of the Windows task manager for vstscan.exe

In Preferences/VST Settings do a reset and rescan in that order.

Did what I should have done in the first place - just rebooted.  Strange, though, I've owned every version of Sonar since the unnumbered first one and have never had to reboot after installation to get it to work right.

Usually, it will prompt you to reboot if necessary.  Even if it doesn't, I use my own judgment and almost always reboot after a significant system change - ie. software installation.   I mean, why take a chance?

You said it yourself - you did "what you should have done in the first place".
