You're depressed over a functioning piece of software that many of us (who don't have oodles of cash to drop on every DAW under the sun) are squirming in our britches to get our hands on? Can I have your copy?

Let your light shine indeed.

But if you actually ARE depressed over something like this and not just yanking our chains or being hyperbolic you should seek some help. That is not a proportional response and suggests much larger underlying issues.

Even if some new content was provided for DP and SD, they're still *far* behind Kontakt, Omnisphere, etc.
I'd much rather Cakewalk focus on Sonar...
There's only so much development time/resources.
Leave sample libraries and virtual instruments to folks who are expert developers in that realm.

I'm going to fly the flag for DimPro a bit.

I'd be astounded for a DAW to include something as comprehensive as Kontakt as a freebie. It'd be nice, of course, but it's hardly to be expected.

As a freebie to get you up and running while you've not got a full on paid for alternative, it's really great. I still use it from time to time, and on commercially released stuff.

Even though it's showing its age slightly, and a bit of a refresh would be welcome, I think it still holds up well as a bundle item.

Me too John T. Its a very good sampler with a lot of quality samples to use.  Mr. Anderton created a very nice bass guitar for it rather recently.  Which I use often.

Yeah, I always get depressed when I own 5 DAWs and a brand new Macbook. So many options!

There's no surprises here, if you want to run SONAR, get a PC laptop. Sell the Macbook, you might be surprised what you can get in exchange.

Hmmmm, let me get this straight, so you guys want Cakewalk to devote all their time and resources to the stability of Sonar, and also what amounts to tweaking the interface in terms of so-called features, even though a DAW actually should be stable from day one by default and have no issues at all, and even though general functionality is already through the roof good in terms of features? But any requests for an upgrade of a 7 year old rompler are apparently unreasonable and constitutes whinging, is that right? No problem, ok, i think i can see what mentality i'm dealing with here...

And for the record, any official requests i've made to Cakewalk through the specified channels over the years have never been fulfilled, and i guess hundreds of other requests from other users haven't been fulfilled either, so don't tell us to go contact Cakewalk, because Cakewalk doesn't listen, capiche? Cakewalk has its own vision and agenda, and from what i can tell (on the whole) they do not fulfill requests!!! But yes, some would say to me "vote with your feet", and i might be inclined to agree with such a statement.

I'd keep the MBP and invest in a decent desktop.  Either English is not their first language or the OP is full of ****. Too flawed for me to believe.

The OP did include the "my long standing history of CW use" required to add weight to a comment... But the "version before X1" sort of got me.

Sorry Alex, but this is just another example of why you shouldn't be a forum host.
