  • How do I uninstall DimPro and Rapture after a C3 install?

I think this was asked before but I can't find the thread (searching for "uninstall" doesn't find any threads??).

I did the C3 install and it installed Sonar Platinum itself to my D drive, alongside the previous versions. However Rapture and DimPro (and some other components I believe), were installed to the C drive which is an OS-only, limited space SSD. I try hard to keep applications out of it but it doesn't always seem to be possible.

So after realizing those were installed to the C drive, I decided to uninstall those components and re-install it with the offline installer. Except I can't figure out how to uninstall it. There is no option in C3 to uninstall it, and they don't show up under Add/Remove Programs. So how do I do it?

It would really be nice to have some settings in C3 to allow for alternative install locations (both the app and the music samples individually) without going the offline route. I also have a dedicated music samples-only SSD, so being able to install Rapture and DimPro's samples there would be good too.

Which brings me to my next question... If I do offline installs, can I then use C3 afterwards to do all subsequent updates with?

If you go to command center and select DimPro and Rapture (separately, of course) you should see an uninstall button to the right.

I tried that on both but all I see is a "Reinstall" button to the right. I'm curious why you also see an "Uninstall" button.

A right-click on either DimPro or Rapture brings up two options: "Hide this product" and "Delete files".

Hmm, I didn't install them so I assumed there was an un-install button.  Try right clicking on them.  I think that was where I saw uninstall.

Sorry for the confusion but I am not in front of my DAW right now.

When I right click on either I only get the options "Hide this product" and "Delete files".

Well, I'm out of ideas.  Right clicking on other stuff gives you a rollback option and an uninstall option.

Sorry I was of no help.

Perhaps a feature request.

Sonar itself has the Uninstall and Rollback right-click options. And all components within the Sonar node also have the Uninstall option. It is just DimPro and Rapture that don't have any of these options.

Thanks for your help nevertheless.
