Have recently purchased JAAB3 and Aria player for it from Garritan.
I have installed a track in a project and everything seems to work as it should, and works fine.
However when I shut down the computer and say come back to the project a day or two later, the Aria track is still present , the instruments load but the sound has gone.
Does anyone know what could have gone wrong?
I have contacted Garritan, gave them the info and all seems OK at their end. It seems that Sonar is acting up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any input to solve this problem. I love this new purchase...great sounds and capabilities.

Regards

Gerry

You may need to add a CC event at the beginning, to set a overall volume. for Aria, this should be CC1, set to 80-100. Then a CC11 event to set the current volume. CC1 acts like the mod wheel with Aria. This is how I do it as I don't have a modwheel on my midi keyboard. Otherwise, the modwheel resets to zero.

Thank you Michael. But I am not an expert, so what is a CC event? and how is the adding done?
This is the first that I have heard of such a thing.
Sorry for my ignorance.

Here's a video tutorial on using CCs (continuous controllers) in Sonar 8.  (Sorry, couldn't find a newer video, but the concepts are the same as with the X series).  Once you understand how they work, it's not hard to learn the steps for X3.

Tried the CC event with no result.
What might I try next. Very frustrating. Everything work perfectly as long as I don't shutdown the computer.

Thank's for any help.

I'm assuming you properly authorized the Aria Player?
Also, are other instruments working OK?

There could be a check box issue with resetting the controllers to zero when play starts. There is that little gotcha in Sonar. I don't know about Aria Player. I only use Aria as a vst instrument for GPO and Jazz and Big Band in Sonar.

Right, make sure you uncheck the box that says about "zero controllers." Look for it in options or preferences. Also, try saving the Aria Player after configuring it.

Also, re: controller events: make sure they are inserted before the events they are supposed to affect. Put the CC=1 event at ms.1, even if the notes don't start until ms 4. For the CC=11 event, put it at the beginning of the measure you want to affect, before the first note. Or in the preceding measure, ms. 3 in this case. That way they "kick in" before the notes start playing.

Another thought: If this still happening, after all the above suggestions, look at the modwheel in the lower left corner of the Aria Player. If it is set to zero, that is your problem. That is what the CC1 event is supposed to take care of. I would take this info to the Garritan Forum (i.e. Make Music). They should be able to help you.

Nothing is more frustrating than something like this. Don't give up! It is solvable.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum....like they say.
Like many people I installed the Cakewalk by BandLab yesterday.
I loaded my project and inserted an Aria track like the one I had in Sonar X3.
I don't know why, but with the new Cakewalk, everything works fine. I shutdown the computer overnight and when
I brought up the project this AM, everything was working like it should.
So thank you everyone for your input. But because I would like to keep both Sonar X3 and the new one, I will  try what you suggest Michael to see if it solves my X3 problem. I am more familiar with the X3...but willing to learn.

Much appreciate all of your help.
