Why just 30 min? I like to take forever to mix!

Schafe Open a new blank project unzip the file into an audio directory associated with the project. from the file menu select import audio go to the folder with the audio in it select all the files and click OK.

Go make a drink.

This will happen tomorrow now.
 

I've done it:
1) I've learnt that I don't really have an affinity with a piece of music unless I made it (or wish that I had made it).
2) I can't mix a track in 1/2 an hour. I can spend days (weeks?) mixing a track.
3) The Sonitus FX have been so ignored by me that I have no fun in using them - it wasn't like meeting an old buddy and reminiscing over old times.
4) I like using the ProChannel strips and feel lost without them.
5) The bass gets lost in the mix and the different drums suck!

Thanks for the help Wookiee......I think I'll mix that drink first.

I like the song. I found it fairly easy to mix. By no means can I do a good job in 30 min. The first thing I did was bring all the faders down to -5.7 dB and then raised the lead vocal. The Rhodes sounds like a weird synth and is annoying so I put a delay on it and lowered it a lot and panned it to the far left. 
 
I panned the hi-hats to the right the kick in the middle and the snare to the left. Solo gt was compressed and panned to the right the rhythm gt was panned left. I did nothing to the background vocals. I put reverb directly on the Lead vocal and a send for the lead gt for reverb. All effects were Sonitus. I wish I could use the PC and other FX.
 
The real trouble is not being able to really solo every track and get to know each one on its own. This was a very quick and dirty mix at best.
 
However, it was fun because there were rules. Neat!!!
