  • AD2 MIDIpaks - How to Select?

I upgraded to Platinum, and while doing the AD2 registration, picked the AdPaks, then clicked on "Get Deal" expecting I would then be able to select the MIDIpaks included with the Platium/AD2 deal. But, no. All of a sudden, I'm back at the install page.

Do I have to go back into 'Register' to get the MIDIPaks or is it something else?

Just go back to register and you will be at the page where you can choose. Just scroll down.

Thanks, Danny.

Now I have another question. I selected the MIDIPaks (three times, in fact) through the registration page, went back to install, but don't get the option to install them and they aren't showing up in the list. Any ideas?

More info: The first time I selected them, I clicked on the "Get Deal" button again (how the f*** was I supposed to know I shouldn't?) and got an error. Now it seems like I'm not being allowed to install them.

The adpaks don't show up any more in the on-line installer. When I selected them today, it went through what appeared to be a scanning process, but nothing appeared to download. This is what now usually happens with a fairly recent change to the installer. In fact I sent a support query myself as I couldn't see them either. XLN assured me that they've been linked and installed and when I went to check, yep, they were there.

Have you checked to see whether they're actually in AD2?

It's automatic... You'll see um in the AD2 browser

Just go to the xln website and go into your account. Your products should be grayed out from the other products. Midi is not in the install part of xln.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Hmmm.... I did see them in the installer. The problem was that first time around, I only selected AD2 and the AdPaks before hitting the "Get Deal" button, so I went back into "Register" after AD2 install was finished. That time, I selected the MIDIPaks and hit "Get Deal" again. I mean, what the hell is that button doing there the second time around if I shouldn't click on it, right?

Anyway, I got an error, so I tried again.

That time (third try by now) I selected MIDIPaks and Kit Pieces, but clicked "Back to Installer" or whatever it's called instead of clicking "Get Deal." I ain't no dummy; can't fool me twice!

Back in the installer, I had a list of the Kit Pieces ready to install, but still no MIDIPaks. I installed the Kit Pieces and went back to "Register" for a fourth try.

And a fifth try.

I can select them, but they just aren't showing up for installation. (sigh)

Like I stated. They are in your account at XLN. Lit up and everything. They don't get installed, but are in the program just the same.

Thanks, Danny, but...

I went to My Account on the XLN website, selected the MIDIPaks and they were (apparently) added to my account. However, I still don't have them in my list in the installer. I restarted it, it went and checked with the online store, but there are still no MIDIPaks listed.

Are you saying this is normal? The MIDIPaks will never show up in the list on the left-hand side of the installer? But they'll be installed anyway?

Exactly. Thats the way they do it. It seems that the midi is embedded in AD2.
