  • Will My AD1 "ADPAK" get upgraded to AD2 with my SONAR PLATINUM upgrade?

Hi All

If anyone could give me a quick answer I would appreciate it as I am in the process of picking my 3 free Addictive Drums 2 ADPAKS with my Sonar Platinum install

I only purchased 1 ADPAK for AD1 (Modern Jazz Brushes) - will this get upgraded to AD2 (like a previous offer I recall seeing) OR will I need to use up one of my choices to get the Jazz Brushes for AD2?

Also - what other ADPAKS would you recommend for AD2?

I want to write/produce commercial "pop/rock" so am thinking "pop drums"

Are there any "must haves" for the kits, Midi packs or kit pieces?

Do they all have to be selected during the initial install or can I select one of each now and go back later?

I believe you'll have to pay extra to upgrade that Jazz Brushes kit (a lot of people have done this by contacting XLN audio.....they've been very happy with deal offered from XLN). Whatever you get with Platinum, will all use the AD2 engine.

I'm also in the same boat trying to decide on which Adpacks to get. I've only read really good things about Fairfax (bot 1 & 2), so that'll be one of mine. I have the Black Velvet kit and it's really good (possibly more suited for hard rock).
Of note, someone said that XLN should be releasing some new stuff soon......but, I don't know enough about this and would like more info on it.

I got "Fairfax Vol 1" and it's very good.

I like the Vintage Dry (for 70s lounge and disco), ReelMachines and Indie. The Fairfaxes have the best cymbals IMO, so I like to mix and match kitpieces.

In order to upgrade your older kits you would need to buy the AD1=>AD2 upgrade. Otherwise they'll remain separate products. You can still run them side by side though.
