I wish I was one of the lucky ones, I dont see why some customers can buy today and some can't is my money different?

It seems like longevity factors into it. And I don't see a problem with that.

Maybe CW feels the long time users (and upgraders) would be better to test the system with. Or maybe parts a perk for upgrading 20+ times.
I have no inside info, just my thoughts on the post and situation.

Maybe, but Ive been a customer since  12 tone systems DOS days and purchased almost every version and didn't receive an invite.
No big deal, I have a pre-order in for the release on the 21st.

Been out in my cottage studio downloading for the past half hour... at 36%... you think having four housemates/urban farmers all streaming netflix or whatever at the same time has anything to do with it?         (BTW, not a serious question)

ok... 32 minutes later, up to 67%... boy, it's Friday night... doesn't anyone go out anymore.... hope the movies are awesome!

Oh well, they do wonders for my mortgage!

And I like the latest video playback system built into the command center!

I assume I skip Melodyne Essential as I have upgraded to Editor...

Well, somehow I lucked out and was just able to download and install Platinum.  Installation went very smoothly so far, although I haven't installed all of the extra content.  I haven't really dug in deep yet, but I'm pretty freakin' impressed with the new layout - the new modules are very cool, especially the way you can manage them.  The way inserts and sends are handled is much improved.  It's gonna be a fun weekend!  I'll report back after I spend some time with it.  Mix recall will be getting a bunch of use.

Having installed New Sonar Platinum a few hours ago, all I can say after messing about with it for much longer than I intended (it's 4am here....) things look pretty good so far. Download was straightforward, not as fast as some here are saying but that might be because our ADSL bandwidths are different, or because we're on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Or jsut because. In any case it seemed to pretty much max out the ADSL bandwidth most of the time. Once downloaded the actual install was much faster than the old "click on the installer then go on holiday while it unpacks everything" system.

Third party plugins I've tried (some Waves, Overloud, Jamstix very briefly just to check it loaded) seem to be working as intended. The new control bar is much more like how it should always have been, Rematrix sounds very good. I'd actually have bought the upgrade just to get those two things plus the changes to the sends gui.

Haven't hit it with a big project or really done much besides load up a few stereo tracks I'm giving the finishing/mastering touch to though. Only downside so far is that the CCC thing hasn't picked up that I already had Dim Pro installed and a custom installation can't be customised enough. No option to choose individual plugins, only "suites" of them which means I've had to install quite a few I'm unlikely to ever use just to get the ones I do use.

I've found the solution for the rematrix scanning problem I mentioned above, and as it's not an impossible scenario for someone else I thought I might post it. REmatrix had installed the ir's to a shared folder path on C:, but my user paths are on E:. As soon as I had moved the overloud folder scanning worked.

I'll let Cakewalk tech support know as well.
